Mobile websites Operation

Once the mobile websites and apps have been published, what else should merchants do after? It is known your traffic won’t have too much growing if the websites or apps are left alone without any operations. So what we need to do maintain mobile products in a good level?

Before that, let us consider some possible entrances of mobile websites (see the picture below for reference).

Entrance 1: This person is your old client. He is free today and just visits the website randomly. Thus the main page is the first visiting page.

Entrance 2: Your mobile websites is found by users via search engine. When customers click the links into the website, they should see product details page or one category page.

Entrance 3: Consumers visit your website by advertises links. The first page they are directed to should be product details page or one category page as well.

Entrance 4: Consumers are connected to online website by image or location recognition, or QR code from offline world. They are directed to main page, or one category page, or product details page, or even shopping cart. In other words, directed pages are the following pages of entrance 1, 2, 3.

In summary, typical mostly visited pages are main page, category pages and product details pages. The most important thing is to avoid high bounce rate. Among these three pages, main page is related to operation tightly than others. So the question is how to operate the main page?

Regarding the question above, next article will explain in details.

Whatever you choose to use mobile websites or apps, you are able to manage category, items, and orders in your existing backend system. There is no need to change your business. Before continue, let us take a tour to see what Kancart will do when users request to build up a mobile template or Kancart web API service

Some of your customers may give up shopping with you because you do not have a mobile website while they are visiting you via their mobile devices. The result is that you lose lots of potential orders which are brought by mobile traffic. Fortunately, Kancart can help you solve these problems in these ways:
1)          Build your mobile channels at lowest cost with ease, up to 1/50 cost of building it by yourself;
2)          Several styles of templates are available to free choose, and it’s also available if you want to fully customised your own style;
3)          Integrate with your current shopping cart system, no influence to current category items and orders management;
4)          Collaborate tightly with PayPal, quick login and checkout, avoiding excessive words input, easy for customers to making orders;
5)          Technical supports for services provided in the backend system;

Kancart defines a mobile commerce API protocol. We call it Kancart open API. It is special designed for mobile apps. It is safe, fast, less network traffic and lightweight but supports a full mobile commerce solution. Not only your mobile store connects your online store by Kancart open API, including vending machine, touch screen, game console, etc. All could be your sales terminal! Your Open API also be created at the same time, any third-party application could be your sales channel. You still manage your items, categories, orders, coupons in your existing backend system. Mobile clients pull data from your server and push data back to your server in real time.

At Kancart, big merchants and small-mid merchants will be served respectively. For example, we may help big merchants to publish their own brand iOS and Android native apps. Other mobile devices such as Nokia and Blackberry will be covered by Kancart’s mobile web cloud service. On the other hand, small-mid merchants can cover their users by Kancart’s mobile web cloud service. Users will be redirected to mobile site by our service.

Below an actual case will be provided as an example to explain what Kancart will do with our clients. Polishop is a big traditional retailer in Brazil. Their major business items include trading electrical devices and everyday basic needs. Their traditional sales channel in the past was TV direct-sale and real shops. At the same time, Polishop has built their online shopping mall, which is selling their products to Brazil and Argentina. In Brazil, they own over 250 real shops, covering major Brazilian cities and business districts.

At first, Polishop aims to release an app for iPhone and Android. It’s true that sales results will increase if they build an extra sales channel on the mobile platform. But actually they can do more. Kancart designed a brand new sales channel model (see image below) for Polishop to stimulate their potential sales target. Now each Polishop’s customer can visit http://m.polishop.com to access Polishop by their on-hand mobile devices.

Here are the details of Kancart’s function design for Polishop, to show how to mixture different sales channel such as TV, real shops, online shops and products catalogies magazine. The final target is to connect between offline worlds to online shop of Polishop.
1)        Creative Coupon: Users need to open the coupon on the touch screen, which will give them fun to interface with you.
2)          Products Video Details: Customers can watch the product’s video that interests them.

3)          SNS: It will be convenience for customers to upload and share their photos, which is helpful to brand promotion.

4)          Products Comparison: The smaller screen is an obvious disadvantage for mobile devices. As a result, it is impossible to display several products together in one screen. Kancart’s solution to Polishop is to compare only two products at one time. Users choose just one as their preference and continue to next turn until they are fully satisfied with the products.

5)          Dynamic products display: It’s always a dilemma for merchants to consider pictures first or words first when products are displayed to their customers.

6)          TV images recognition: The video is indexed in advance and capture some images per second while doing the same thing on the mobile device. The situation of advertisement recognition will be very clear after making a comparison with server side. All customers need to do after successful recognition is to open the product details page and put the product to shopping cart when a purchase decision is made.

7)          QR code recognition: Different QR codes reflect different customers’ actions. Merchants are able to pre-setup all following activities for their customers. When a QR code is scanned by a consumer, a following activity will be assigned to the consumer which depends on the code. The result is that consumer can get desired products easily with just scanning a QR code. Several operation steps have been omitted and more traffic will be converted to orders (see image below left).

8)          Watch Polishop TV programmes on your smart phone: Just let the clients watch TV programmes easily at any time, any place.

9)          Real shops location service: Sometimes even the customers are basically satisfied with the products they viewed in the online shop however they still hope to try it before they decide to purchase. At this time the located service will be a useful one. Potential consumers will be attracted as many as possible, which definitely brings more orders for Polishop (see image above right).

10)        Notification Push: Kancart provided services to help merchants push notifications to iPhone and Android client terminal. But it is important to pay attention to junk notifications. If the customers always receive useless information from you, then your apps are threatened to be uninstalled.
